I teach Electric Bass, Double Bass and Guitar students of all ages from diverse backgrounds,
Genres: Popular, Funk, Hip Hop, Metal, Rock, Disco, Soul Music, Traditional Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Latin Jazz , and Ballads.
Electric Techniques: Fingered, Thumbed, Economy Picking, Tapping and Slap.
Influences: James Jamerson, Jaco Pastorius, Bootsy Collins and Bernard White.
Double Bass Techniques: Jazz Pizzicato, Arco and Slap.
Jazz Influences: Ray Brown, John Patitucci, Doug Watkins, Arvell Shaw and Paul Chambers.
Classical Influences: Gary Karr, Bach and Beethoven.
My experience lies in teaching students from primary, middle, and high school while cultivating an environment that stimulates ongoing music appreciation. As a product of school music education, I possess a strong ability to coach and mentor students to successfully pursue various music-related opportunities.
Along with my teaching accomplishments, I have professional ethics and good communication skills. I have completed a Bachelor in Music Performance at The Jazz Music Institute. During my years completing an Advanced Diploma of Music, my principle study was the Electric Bass. I have worked as a session musician recording in Troy Horse Records in Sydney and Sci Fi Studios in Brisbane. Recent recordings include my Bass work on Tyrone Noonans latest album and live performances at Woodford Folk Festival. Currently I perform double bass in my own jazz trio and the electric bass in an Abba Tribute Band.
